Barcelona is a city that appeals to all the senses. Whether you’re a history buff, a culture vulture or a passionate shopping fanatic, the city provides all this and much more. With so much to see and do in Barcelona we took the effort to sum up our favourite must see places.
Shopping
1. Plaça de Catalunya is one of Barcelona’s most vibrant squares that separates the old town from the new. It is the city’s most central area, with many department stores, shops, and meeting places.
2. La Rambla is Barcelona’s most famous boulevard. On the 1.2 km stretched lively promenade you can find La Boqueria Market, street artists, shops, museums, restaurants, and bars.
3. Maremagnum is a large shopping centre in Port Vell, almost completely surrounded by waters. The beautifully designed building features a large variety of shops for any generation, restaurants and bars that are even open on Sundays.

1. Parc Güell is composed of rich gardens and stunning organic architectural elements designed by Gaudi, who has lived on that ground. The park is partly free and the monumental zone requires a fee.
2. Bunkers del Carmel is a view point a few minutes away from parc Güell. At this antiaircraft warfare, you will have 360 degrees panoramic views of the city.
3. Tibidabo is the mountain overlooking Barcelona with breath-taking views over the city. Ever wondered what the temple is on top of the mountain behind Barcelona? It is the enchanting basilica Sagra Cor that sits on top of Tibidabo. Definitely worth a visit!
4. Font Màgica is a magical fountain of dancing waters with a spectacular display of music and lights that generate over 50 shades and hues. It lies on the foot of the mount Montjuïc, in front of the National Museum.

1. La Sagrada Familia is a church like you have never seen before designed by Gaudí. The colourful glasses, interior- and exterior designs are full of stories with an enchanting effect on the cathedral.
2. Catedral de Barcelona is a Roman Catholic Gothic Cathedral built in between the 13th and 15th century. In front of the church, you can find a local meeting spot with many street artists.
3. Casa Batlló is one of Gaudí’s masterpieces decorated with skeletal, organic shapes. Located on Passeig de Gracia, this house is stunning both from the inside and the outside. A remodel of a previously built house, it was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudí and has been refurbished several times after that.
4. Casa Mila, popularly known as La Padrera, was the last private residence designed by Antoni Gaudi. Especially the rooftop terrace is beautifully designed.

Museums
1. Museu Picasso holds the most extensive and impressive collection of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. The museum occupies five houses or palaces which have a history on their own.
2. Poble Espanyol is an open air museum that represents the whole of Spain in its architecture. Here you can find houses and streets replicated from various parts of Spain, with even shops selling products from that area.
3. MACBA, the shortage of Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, is a modern building with complex architecture exhibiting post Spanish and Catalan art. In front of the building is the famous skate park where you can find many youngsters performing tricks.
