Incentive trips to include soft skills training
Last week saw the 5th year of our collaboration with IESE Business School on the Global Executive MBA communications skills course. Over 60 students from all over the world travelled to Barcelona for the week long in house module aimed at enhancing the power of persuasive presentations and leadership. Led by Professor Conor Neill ( Lecturer at IESE), We collaborated to create some incredible learning experiences.
I have always believed that companies that invest in the “soft skills” within their organizations will in the long run, always fare better than those that don´t. Having spent 13 years in the world of corporate events, I am encouraged to see that there is a significant move by big companies towards incorporating these learning elements into their Barcelona Incentive Trips.
This year alone I have been privileged to be part of organising over 150 events for companies of the likes of Nike, Jones Lang La Salle, Levis, SEAT, Mazda, Merck, and the one thing that intersects all of these companies is their absolute commitment to their all of their staff – not just those that have been earmarked for the company fastrack. I witness an investment in training in communication skills, leadership skills, presentations skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills. In Barcelona this can be done against the back drop of a city renowned for its creativity, culture and expression of self.
Our week at IESE definitely reflected all of these values and more. My thanks to Conor Neil (Professor IESE Business School), Tobias Rodrigues ( Corporate Trainer) Florian Mueck ( Public Speaking Trainer) and John Zimmer (Communication Skills Guru) for another rich experience and I look forward to collaborating with you on some other projects during the coming months.
